Privacy Policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
Facts & Games (factsandgames.com) is owned and run by Neal Burstyn. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the site. The short version: an account is optional, we don’t sell personal information, and unless you choose to sign in, your game progress stays on your own device.
What we collect
- You never need an account to play. We never ask for your name or a password.
- If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive and keep an account ID from them and the email address they share with us (Apple lets you share a private relay address instead of your real one). We also store your saved games, scores and streak so they can be copied to your other devices. We use this only to run your account and sync your progress, never for advertising, and we don’t sell or share it.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- We may use analytics tools to understand how the site is used, such as which games are played and how often. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies and collect information like your device type, browser and general location.
- If we add subscriptions or payments, we will collect what’s needed to provide them, and this policy will be updated to explain it.
What stays on your device
Your game progress, scores, chosen topic and light/dark setting are saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device. If you aren’t signed in, they are never sent to us. You can erase them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
Your account
If you sign in, a cookie keeps you signed in on that device. Your account data is stored with Cloudflare, our host. You can sign out at any time, and you can delete your account on the Account page: that erases your account and every game saved with it from our server right away. If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also disconnects Facts & Games from your Apple Account.
Services the site uses
- Sign-in: if you choose to sign in, Apple or Google confirms who you are under its own privacy policy and tells us only your account ID and email address.
- Hosting: the site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site, under its own privacy policy.
- Fonts: page fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details when fonts are downloaded.
- Word definitions: when you tap a word in Word Builder, the word is looked up with the Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev) and Wiktionary. Those services see the word and your IP address.
- Analytics and payments: if we use analytics or payment providers, they process information under their own privacy policies.
- Outside links: “Read more” and other links take you to sites such as Wikipedia, which have their own privacy policies.
Children
The games are suitable for all ages. Signing in is only for people 13 or older, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
